Sadly, the Fort Davis Indians are still looking for their first win of the season after 12 matches. They were dealt a 62-9 loss at the hands of Van Horn on Tuesday. Fort Davis was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 23-3.
Van Horn got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gio Corralez out in front who scored 16 points along with five assists and three steals. Corralez hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Joey Anchondo was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Fort Davis' defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Van Horn, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Big Bend the next time they take the court. Fort Davis will host Big Bend at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Van Horn will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
