Baseball Recap: Clearwater Valley's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Potlatch, Clearwater Valley was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Nezperce Nighthawks 23-9. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Tiago Pickering was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Lincoln Barger was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Clearwater Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

With the win, Clearwater Valley broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-6. As for Nezperce, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coming up, Clearwater Valley will face off against Kendrick at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups. As for Nezperce, they will square off against Potlatch at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Loggers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Nighthawks surely won't give up without a fight.
