After losing to the Corinth Riverhawks the last time they met, the Mayfield Panthers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Mayfield enjoyed a cozy 65-50 victory over Corinth on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mayfield.
Mayfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brianna Iannuzzi, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Iannuzzi has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cloey Dopp, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Mayfield now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Corinth, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.
Mayfield will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Duanesburg at 6:00 p.m. Corinth won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hartford Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hartford Central will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
