It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but The Decatur Bulldogs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged Chamblee out 36-34. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Leading Decatur to victory were Tim Britt and Barron Scott. Britt gained 89 total yards and two touchdowns, while Scott rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
The victory makes it two in a row for Decatur and bumps their season record up to 4-5. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Lithonia and 3-6 Chamblee. As for Chamblee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Decatur will head out on the road to face off against M.L. King at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. M.L. King is on a three-game streak of home losses, Decatur a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Chamblee will take on Lithonia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lithonia comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
