It was a good run, but the Nazareth Kingsmen unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Sunday. They fell to St. Joseph Hill Academy 49-43.
Nazareth's loss came despite strong showings from Vanessa McManus and M. Moore. McManus scored 20 points along with two steals, while Moore scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. McManus is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played.
Nazareth's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for St. Joseph Hill Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nazareth will face off against Monsignor Scanlan at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monsignor Scanlan presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Nazareth in New York (Monsignor Scanlan is ranked second, while Nazareth is ranked 72nd). St. Joseph Hill Academy on the road again on Saturday and play against North Rockland at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th.
