The South Delta Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 25 points or more this season. They really took it to West Tallahatchie for the full four quarters, racking up a 42-11 victory at home. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points South Delta has scored all year.
Despite the loss, West Tallahatchie saw an underclassman step up: Dakyliha Johnson scored seven points.
The win (which was South Delta's third in a row) raised their record to 9-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.67 points. As for West Tallahatchie, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Delta will take on Simmons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Simmons is ranked 164th, while South Delta is ranked 144th). West Tallahatchie is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Shaw at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
