Despite the loss, West Tallahatchie saw an underclassman step up: Dakyliha Johnson scored seven points.
The win (which was South Delta's third in a row) raised their record to 9-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.67 points. As for West Tallahatchie, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Delta will take on Simmons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Simmons is ranked 164th, while South Delta is ranked 144th). West Tallahatchie is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Shaw at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th.
