The Whitko Wildcats waltzed into their game on Friday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They enjoyed a cozy 55-40 win over Northwestern.
Leading Whitko to victory were Sam Essegian and Kyler Krull. Essegian scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, while Krull scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. Krull has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Riley Harman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with four steals.
Whitko pushed their record up to 14-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Northwestern, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.
Whitko didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-48 win vs. LaVille on the 10th. Northwestern has also already played their next match, a 66-47 win against Rossville on the 10th.
