The Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart Cyclones will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against TERRA Environmental at 5:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past St. Brendan 54-27 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-12.
Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart can attribute much of their success to Josephine Salazar, who scored 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds, and Alissa Azcuy, who scored 15 points along with six assists. Azcuy is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaby Garcia-Pons, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, TERRA Environmental scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 60-33 victory over South Miami at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for TERRA Environmental considering their 21-point performance the matchup before.
Miani Pantaleon and Francesca Rodriguez were among the main playmakers for TERRA Environmental as the former scored 14 points along with two steals and the latter scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Audrey Vega, who scored four points along with three steals.
Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for TERRA Environmental, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Tuesday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 22.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like TERRA Environmental struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 25.9 rebounds per game. Given Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart's sizeable advantage in that area, TERRA Environmental will need to find a way to close that gap.
