Boyd is 7-2 against Valley View since November of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Boyd Yellowjackets will look to defend their home court against the Valley View Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Boyd is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Valley View in Texas (Boyd is ranked 756th, while Valley View is ranked 1524th).
Even though Boyd has not done well against Callisburg recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Boyd strolled past Callisburg with points to spare, taking the game 65-47. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Boyd.
Boyd's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Payton Boyer led the charge by scoring 22 points. Another player making a difference was Trey Robinson, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Valley View's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They were dealt a 58-18 loss at the hands of Paradise. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Valley View has scored all season.
Boyd has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-14 record this season. As for Valley View, they bumped their record down to 3-18 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Boyd didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Valley View when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 49-44 win. Will Boyd repeat their success, or does Valley View have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
