Long Beach Poly is 8-0 against Jordan since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits will head out on the road to face off against the Jordan Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Long Beach Poly comes in on seven and Jordan on three.
Long Beach Poly stacked a fifth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They beat Compton by the very same score they won with last week: 50-6. Given Long Beach Poly's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Compton is ranked 702nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Darius Curry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 164 yards and five touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Curry hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Jordan Malauulu was in the mix as well, providing Long Beach Poly with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Jordan put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They breezed by Cabrillo on the road to the tune of 47-7.
Jordan Washington and Jarret Nielsen were among the main playmakers for Jordan as the former gained 184 total yards and three touchdowns and the latter threw for 510 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Nielsen is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last three games he's played. Donovin Randolph also helped out as he racked up 133 receiving yards.
Long Beach Poly's win was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.0 points per game. As for Jordan, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Everything came up roses for Long Beach Poly against Jordan when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 63-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Long Beach Poly since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
