The Washington Blue Lions entered their tilt with the Vinton County Vikings with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Washington walked away with a 62-55 victory over Vinton County on Tuesday. Given Washington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Vinton County is ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Haithcock, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. John Wall was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Washington pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Vinton County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will take on Logan Elm at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Washington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Vinton County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
