Trinity is 8-2 against Lutheran West since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Trinity Trojans will play host again and welcome the Lutheran West Longhorns, where tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Trinity focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
Last Friday, Trinity took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 59-22 victory over Independence. Given Trinity's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while Independence is ranked 705th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was De'oshania Bennett, who scored 16 points along with 7 steals. Bennett is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Iniya Charlton, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Lutheran West came up short against Thomas Worthington on Saturday and fell 49-41. Lutheran West has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Trinity now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lutheran West, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Trinity beat Lutheran West 44-35 when the teams last played back in January. Will Trinity repeat their success, or does Lutheran West have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
