Joliet Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-57 heartbreaker at the hands of the Plainfield East Bengals. One positive for the Steelmen, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Defeat or not, Joliet Central got some senior leadership from Erick Contreras and Malachi Boatright. Contreras went 5 for 11 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds, while Boatright went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points along with seven boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Boatright has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Vonte Mccann, who posted eight points.

Joliet Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Plainfield East, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-17.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Joliet Central will face off against Plainfield Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Joliet Central is facing Plainfield Central at the right time seeing as Plainfield Central is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Plainfield East, they will square off against Plainfield South at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Plainfield East's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.
