The Crater Comets fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against South Eugene by a score of 35-26 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Crater, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Valentin Rodriguez, who rushed for 345 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Rodriguez was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.
Crater is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for South Eugene, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Crater will head out on the road to face off against Wilsonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilsonville will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. South Eugene does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
