McClintock is 0-3 against Mountain Pointe since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The McClintock Chargers will be playing at home against the Mountain Pointe Pride at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McClintock has six straight victories, Mountain Pointe has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Wednesday, McClintock didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Paradise Honors, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win.
McClintock found their leader in underclassman Josh McManaway , who scored 21 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which McManaway has scored at least 25% of McClintock's points. Malachi Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Meanwhile, Mountain Pointe had to suffer through a rough 74-39 loss at the hands of Basha. While losing is never fun, Mountain Pointe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Basha is ranked 12th).
Their wins bumped McClintock to 6-2 and Paradise Honors to 4-5.
McClintock couldn't quite finish off Mountain Pointe when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 66-63. Thankfully for McClintock, Aiden Price (who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
