The Manchester Blue Devils's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They took down Greenville 66-47. The high-flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Manchester considering their 18-point performance the game before.
Jermiah Martin was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points. Another player making a difference was Macaria Mahone, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Greenville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shalillan Kelley, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Catavia Bennet, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Manchester's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Greenville, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-14.
Manchester and Macon County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Macon County will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Manchester surely won't give up without a fight. As for Greenville, they will be playing at home against Schley County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Schley County will be up against Greenville's rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.47 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive showing.
