The Dumas Demons were the 61-41 winner over the Borger Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Dumas fell 57-49 to the Bulldogs on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Dumas came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1268th).
Borger was led to victory by Tahqulin Brooks and Kaeden Jennings. Brooks dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds, while Jennings scored 27 points along with six assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jennings has scored all season. Another player making a difference was DeSean Speed, who scored seven points.
Dumas has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-11 record this season. As for Borger, their win ended a 16-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-22.
Dumas will challenge the Harvesters at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Borger, they will be playing at home against the Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
