Sadly, the Sheridan Rams are still looking for their first win of the season after 12 contests. They were outmatched by Platte Canyon on the road and fell 70-36. Sheridan has not had much luck with Platte Canyon recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Sheridan saw an underclassman step up: Bobby Garcia scored 14 points along with three steals. Garcia is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Will Brent was another key contributor, scoring five points along with nine rebounds and four blocks.
Platte Canyon's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Max Flores, who scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Flores has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack McMahen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Sheridan dropped their record down to 0-12 with that defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Platte Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheridan will take on Middle Park at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sheridan is facing Middle Park at the right time seeing as Middle Park is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Platte Canyon, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against The Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (The Pinnacle is ranked 301st, while Platte Canyon is ranked 277th).
