The Bear Creek Bears will head out to challenge the Green Mountain Rams at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Bear Creek turned things around against Conifer on Thursday. They blew past the Lobos 10-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Brandon Adams-Anders made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Matt Hegerle, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Yazzi Gonzales also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, Green Mountain posted their closest victory since May 2, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Longmont 6-4.
Like Bear Creek, Green Mountain also got a great game from a two-way player: Demetreus Padilla. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, Padilla gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Simon Lunsford looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low.
Padilla wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was DD Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Hudson Burke was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Bear Creek's record now sits at 2-5. As for Green Mountain, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.
Bear Creek skirted past Green Mountain 9-7 in their previous meeting back in May of 2021. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bear Creek since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
