There's no place like home for The Master's Academy Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Carolina Day by a score of 49-41 on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for The Master's Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Faith Yelton, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 19 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Macy Bumgarner, who scored six points along with seven steals.
Carolina Day's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lily Everette, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 36.6% of Carolina Day's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Williams, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
The Master's Academy's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Carolina Day, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
