Basketball Recap: Stockton Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ireland Mensendike and Kaydra Wright

Stockton lost against Amboy back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The game between the Stockton Blackhawks and the Amboy Clippers didn't end well, with the Stockton Blackhawks falling 47-31. The Blackhawks were down 41-18 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the defeat, Stockton had strong showings from Kaydra Wright, who posted five points and three steals, and Ireland Mensendike, who had six points. That's the most steals Wright has posted since back in December of 2024. Madalyn Perry also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Stockton has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-9 record this season. As for Amboy, they pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

Stockton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-47 loss against Polo on the 3rd. Amboy has also already played their next game (against Fulton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
