Loganville is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Jefferson is on a six-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Loganville Red Devils will take on the Jefferson Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Two weeks ago, Loganville slipped by Clarke Central 51-50.
Loganville relied on the efforts of Ahmed Souare, who picked up 290 receiving yards and four touchdowns, and Brody Hannah, who threw for 553 yards and seven touchdowns. Hannah is on a roll when it comes to passing yards, as he's now passed for 300 or more in the last three games he's played. Joseph Barnes was another key contributor, picking up 146 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Jefferson blew past Flowery Branch, posting a 41-13 victory at home. The result was nothing new for Jefferson, who have now won four matchups by 28 points or more so far this season.
Jefferson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sammy Brown, who rushed for 228 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Markey, who threw for 88 yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Loganville to 4-4 and Jefferson to 7-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday' matchup: Loganville has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 283.4 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Jefferson, though, as they've been averaging only 98.4 per game. How will Jefferson fare against such a dominant passing game?
Loganville was taken down by Jefferson 42-6 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will Loganville have more luck at home instead of on the road?
