After eight games on the road, Centralia is heading back home. They will take on the Monroe City Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Centralia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 526 points over their last eight contests.
Centralia can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Highland 70-47. Given Centralia's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Highland is ranked 463rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Monroe City waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 victory over Routt Catholic. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Monroe City has posted since January 15th.
Centralia has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Monroe City, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.
Centralia beat Monroe City 43-34 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Centralia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Monroe City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
