They came out on top in a nail-biter against El Capitan/Centennial Academy and snuck past 38-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Williams has posted yet this season.
Leading Williams to victory were Liliana Vazquez and Kai Mortensen. Vazquez scored four points along with five rebounds and two blocks, while Mortensen scored 13 points.
Williams has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for El Capitan/Centennial Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-7.
Williams will be playing at home against Grand Canyon at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Grand Canyon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for El Capitan/Centennial Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Ash Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Ash Fork focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
