Upper Lake is 9-1 against Lower Lake since August of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to  face off against the Trojans  at 6:00  p.m. Given that  the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this  contest.
Upper Lake came up short against  Kelseyville on Tuesday, falling  3-0. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost nine in a row.
 The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-9,  25-20.

 Despite the  defeat, Upper Lake had strong showings from  Ava Witter, who  had 17  digs, and  Aimee Schaefers, who  had ten  kills, nine  digs,  and three  blocks. Schaefers has been hot for a while, having  posted two or more  blocks the last 40 times she's  played.
Meanwhile, Lower Lake came up short against St. Helena on Tuesday and fell  3-1. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Saints  25-20 in the first  set.
 Lower Lake started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-12, 25-22,  25-23.
 Upper Lake's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Lower Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.
 Upper Lake took their  win against Lower Lake  in their previous meeting  back in September by a conclusive  3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the  squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
