The Mountain View Mountain Lions will be taking part in a tournament against The Academy Wildcats  at 12:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Mountain View will be strutting in after a  victory while The Academy will be coming in after a  defeat.
 Mountain View saw some tournament action  on Thursday. They escaped with a win against Pomona by the margin of a single free throw,  43-42.
 Mountain View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Janice Manley, who  had 11 points. Another player making a difference was  Alex Ellis, who  scored 13 points plus seven  rebounds and six  steals.
 Mountain View  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 19  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've posted  since  the start of last season.
 Meanwhile, The Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight  loss  dating back to last season. They took a  blow against Thompson Valley, falling  74-14.
 The  victory  got Mountain View back to even at 1-1. As for The Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
