Cumberland Gap is 9-1 against Claiborne since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The two teams will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Tuesday, things could have been worse for Cumberland Gap, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-28 loss to Gibbs. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cumberland Gap has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Claiborne was the victim of a rough 64-39 loss at the hands of Bell County on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Claiborne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 305th in Tennessee, while Bell County is ranked 66th in Kentucky).
Despite the loss, Claiborne got a solid performance out of Allie Jones, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Hicks, who scored seven points.
