On Wednesday, Eastmoor Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Centennial, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Eastmoor Academy.
Eastmoor Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Nowell, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Wooden, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Eastmoor Academy's victory was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Centennial, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastmoor Academy will take on South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eastmoor Academy in Ohio (South is ranked 113th, while Eastmoor Academy is ranked 418th). As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to face off against Beechcroft at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Beechcroft focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
