It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Brillion had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Algoma Wolves with a sharp 9-1 win. Considering the Lions have won 13 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one stolen base and one run. In other batting news, Brillion got a massive performance out of Landon Mathes, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Mathes has posted since back in April. Brillion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Algoma only posted a batting average of .185.
The victory made it two in a row for Brillion and bumps their season record up to 22-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Algoma, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-15.
Looking ahead, Brillion will challenge Bonduel at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.7, the Bears 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Algoma does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
