The Piedmont Panthers waltzed into their contest on Monday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They breezed by Central Academy at home to the tune of 68-22. Piedmont's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Emily Polk, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Landry Smith, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Piedmont's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Central Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Piedmont will head out on the road to take on Parkwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Forest Hills at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Forest Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Wednesday.
