Lancaster Country Day has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Conestoga Christian Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Lancaster Country Day took a serious blow against the Blazers, falling 68-38. While losing is never fun, Lancaster Country Day can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Blazers are ranked 156th).
Meanwhile, Conestoga Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to Mount Calvary Christian. Conestoga Christian has struggled against the Chargers recently, as their contest on Monday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Paul Hurst, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Josh Boutaugh, who scored 20 points along with four steals.
Lancaster Country Day's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for Conestoga Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
Lancaster Country Day was able to grind out a solid victory over the Cougars when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 59-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lancaster Country Day since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
