The Destin Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 48-26 loss at the hands of L.E.A.D. Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Destin has scored all season.
L.E.A.D. Academy found their leader in underclassman Emily Harold, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Lay, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Destin bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for L.E.A.D. Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Destin will head out on the road to face off against Freeport at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Freeport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. L.E.A.D. Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Escambia at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. Escambia comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
