Basketball Game Preview: Cape Hatteras Hurricanes vs. Manteo Redskins

Cape Hatteras hasn't had much luck against Manteo recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cape Hatteras Hurricanes will look to defend their home court against the Manteo Redskins at 7:30 p.m. Cape Hatteras will be strutting in after a victory while Manteo will be coming in after a loss.

Cape Hatteras took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down Northeast Academy For Aerospace and Advanced Tech 51-33. The win was some much needed relief for the Hurricanes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cape Hatteras to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trae Wyatt, who posted nine points and five steals. Those five steals gave Wyatt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ty Stephens, who put up 13 points.

Meanwhile, Manteo entered their match against Holmes on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Manteo fell 65-57 to Holmes. The loss was the Redskins' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Manteo fell to 4-1. As for Cape Hatteras, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Cape Hatteras was dealt a bruising 75-23 defeat at the hands of Manteo when the teams last played last Wednesday. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cape Hatteras was down 40-13.
