The Nonnewaug Chiefs won against the Wamogo Regional Warriors on Thursday with 70 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Nonnewaug took down Wamogo Regional 70-51. That's two games straight that Nonnewaug has won by exactly 19 points.
When it comes to explaining why Wamogo Regional lost, one person who can't be blamed is Patrick Weaving. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Quinn Coffey, who scored 17 points.
Nonnewaug's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Wamogo Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nonnewaug will take on O'Brien RVT at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully O'Brien RVT focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday. As for Wamogo Regional, they will head out on the road to face off against Gilbert at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
