Northgate moved up to 164 from 201 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Diablo Valley. The Broncos climbed the ranks as a result of topping College Park 49-14.
Clayton Valley Charter extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Concord, 49-48. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
MITCH DANIELS threw for 374 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was 32-48 with 2 interceptions.
DANIELS put up the best numbers through the air as the Minutemen lost to Clayton Valley Charter. DANIELS's favorite target this week was MASON KNIGHT, who caught 9 passes for 144 yards.
Concord's DANIELS and KNIGHT have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback DANIELS has thrown for 2,358 yards this season, while KNIGHT has 67 catches for 1,010 yards. Eric Haynes from Northgate leads the league in rushing with 1,131 yards.
The top two teams in Diablo Valley will face off this week when first place Northgate takes on second place Clayton Valley Charter. Last week, Justin Lowell's team beat the Falcons, while Tim Murphy's team topped Brian Hamilton's team.
The Minutemen's MALIK BLACKBURN needs only 27 yards against Mt. Diablo next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. BLACKBURN has rushed for 973 yards on 137 carries so far this year.
