The Braden River Pirates can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 65-44 margin over Lakewood Ranch. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Braden River also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Marcus Schade was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Braden River's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Heaven, who scored 13 points along with 6 rebounds.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Allen, who scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. James Butler was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Even though they lost, Lakewood Ranch were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Braden River only racked up two.
The victory got Braden River back to even at 3-3. As for Lakewood Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
Braden River will head out on the road to face off against Imagine School at North Port at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Imagine School at North Port focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday. As for Lakewood Ranch, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cardinal Mooney at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
