Video: Top 10 Games of the Week
Zack Poff takes a look at this week's top games led by an Ohio showdown between St. Xavier and La Salle.
Mater Dei and IMG Academy remained atop the MaxPreps Composite Top 25 football rankings, while former No. 3 St. Thomas Aquinas dropped 17 spots after losing a hard-fought 12-0 defensive battle to Centennial (Ariz.). It was the second game in five days for the Raiders, who had previously dealt with a 24-day layoff due to Hurricane Irma.
Centennial, meanwhile, was the only newcomer this week, jumping into the rankings at No. 19, one spot ahead of the Raiders.
Only schools recognized by two or more media outlets are eligible for
inclusion in the composite rankings. Teams were assigned a score of 40
for each media outlet that did not recognize them as part of their Top
25, rewarding teams that received consensus acclaim.
