In what's become a running theme this season, the Eastmark Firebirds gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. They claimed a resounding 58-20 victory over Poston Butte at home. Eastmark is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight.
Leading Eastmark to victory were Anna LaFountain and Isabella Jackson. LaFountain scored 14 points, while Jackson scored 15 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Jackson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Farnstrom, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Poston Butte had strong showings from Kyla Boyd, who scored five points along with five steals, and Julia Harris, who scored four points. Boyd has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Poston Butte struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Eastmark posted 18 assists.
Eastmark is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. As for Poston Butte, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-9.
Eastmark does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Poston Butte also has no future games currently scheduled.
