Cook Inlet recap Oct. 3, 2012
Service extended the longest winning streak in Cook Inlet this week by beating West, 41-20. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Cougars.
South took down Dimond 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zachary Lujan threw for 167 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Diego Su'a te'o was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 85 yards as East defeated Chugiak. Teammate Jakeil Bell added to the ground attack by rushing for 77 yards.
Laws was the best wideout in the league this week as the Thunderbirds topped the Mustangs. Laws tallied eight receptions for 137 yards. Su'a te'o helped East's passing attack out by catching two balls for 19 yards.
Viliamu Aukusitino threw for 177 yards and four touchdowns. He went 15-20 with zero interceptions.
Zyrelle Jones provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bartlett fell to Eagle River. He completed 17 passes for 231 yards and also ran for 36 yards. Jones 's favorite target this week was Edress Irving III , who caught five passes for 100 yards.
The Eagles' Conor Feckley and Eric Vandervort have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Cook Inlet in both passing and receiving yards. Feckley has thrown for 1267 yards this season, while Vandervort, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 28 catches for 489 yards. Dante Williams from the Wolverines leads the league in rushing with 615 yards.
South led the league in scoring this week after putting up 47 points on the Lynx. Lujan in the win.
