Even though the Canajoharie Cougars scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Mayfield Panthers still came out on top. Mayfield took down Canajoharie 70-56. The win made it back-to-back wins for Mayfield.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mayfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cloey Dopp, who scored 31 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. The contest was Dopp's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Brianna Iannuzzi was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals.
Mayfield has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Canajoharie, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mayfield will take on Stillwater at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Canajoharie, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Berne-Knox-Westerlo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Berne-Knox-Westerlo is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
