SHELBY, Mich. - The defense did their part on the scoring end for for
Clinton (Mich.) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Redskins defeated Shelby (Mich.) 49-3.
After taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter, the Redskins were up 35-3 at the half.
Clinton expanded its lead to 39 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS's lone score in the quarter came on a
Mathew Sexton touchdown run.
Brett Tschirhart and Sexton ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Tigers. Tschirhart scored two touchdowns on the ground and Sexton added two as well.
The Redskins came into the game allowing 13.8 points per game. Shelby came in allowing just 14.7 points per game this season. SHS had a hard time against Clinton's offense, which entered the game scoring 45.6 points per game.
The loss comes after Shelby defeated Schoolcraft 33-7 last week.
