Hargrave is 10-0 against Splendora since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Hargrave Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Splendora Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Hargrave knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Splendora likes a good challenge.
Hargrave stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 71-15 victory over West Fork. Given Hargrave's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while West Fork is ranked 1372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Liberty scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, Splendora still came out on top. Splendora managed a 62-58 win over Liberty. The win made it back-to-back wins for Splendora.
Splendora's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Candido Hernandez led the charge by shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cayden Hyatt, who scored 11 points.
Hargrave has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for Splendora, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-13.
Everything came up roses for Hargrave against Splendora in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 81-50 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Splendora's Justin Kelley, who scored 23 points along with two steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Hargrave still be able to contain Kelley? There's only one way to find out.
