Basketball Recap: Pelion's Loss Ends Eight-Game Winning Streak at Home

It was a good run, but Pelion unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 34-33 to the Saluda Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 34-27 back in January.

Despite the loss, Pelion still got an impressive performance from Tyshawn Caldwell, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Caldwell a new career-high in points. Zyan Davis also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Pelion's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for Saluda, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pelion will head out to challenge Strom Thurmond at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Saluda, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Saluda Tigers face off against the Ninety Six Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Saluda has four straight wins, Ninety Six has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
