After a string of five wins, the Scottsbluff Bearcats's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 58-51 to Sidney. Scottsbluff was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Saturday.
Despite the defeat, Scottsbluff saw an underclassman step up: Nate Kelley scored 19 points. Kelley is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Keon Delgado was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Scottsbluff's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Sidney, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2.
Scottsbluff will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully North Platte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Friday. As for Sidney, they and the Cardinals will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
