It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Fox Tech Buffaloes ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Cuero 56-54. For Fox Tech, this counts as revenge for the 54-45 loss Cuero walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Fox Tech's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Hernandez, who scored 11 points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. Amaryon Thompson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Fox Tech's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-15. As for Cuero, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fox Tech will square off against Young Men's Leadership Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cuero's road trip will continue as they head out to face La Vernia at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
