Baseball Recap: Tampa Prep Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Tampa Prep not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14th. They were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over the Sports Leadership & Management Spartans. This was a revenge game for the Terrapins: when they faced off against the Spartans back in February, they had to take a 7-6 loss.

Will Futch was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Tampa Prep: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Brooks, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI.

Tampa Prep is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sports Leadership & Management, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-14.

Looking ahead, Tampa Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Seffner Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Terrapins' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crusaders have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Sports Leadership & Management, they will venture away from home to take on Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Phoenix at the right time seeing as the Phoenix are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
