LAKEWOOD, Calif. - After three lead changes,
Artesia (Lakewood, Calif.) took the lead for good when
Jimmy Rodriguez thew a touchdown to
Tytus Simmons with 2:00 to go in the third quarter and held on to beat
Cerritos (Calif.) 43-22 on Saturday.
After trailing 20-14 at the half, the Dons went ahead on a two-point conversion with 6:00 remaining in the third.
Each side put up eight points during the third quarter, and at the beginning of the fourth it was still a six point game.
The win was a nice bounce back for Artesia, which lost to Mayfair last week, 44-22.
Artesia (4-2) goes up against Norwalk in a Suburban game matchup next week, while Cerritos (1-4) locks horns with Bellflower also in a Suburban game.
