The Brunswick Blue Devils will take on the Lorain Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Brunswick was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Shaker Heights on Thursday. The Blue Devils blew past the Red Raiders 10-1. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Kiley Williams looked comfortable as she pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Beas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Compton, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Brunswick hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Lorain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 18-14 to Valley Forge. Even if the Titans couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Alayna Warren made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Ja'Ly Cortes, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
Brunswick is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lorain, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.
Lorain's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brunswick has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Lorain, though, as they've been averaging 10 hits. Given Brunswick's sizable advantage in that area, the Titans will need to find a way to close that gap.
