Even though the Springdale Dynamos scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, the Clairton Bears still came out on top. Clairton took their game against Springdale 69-56. The victory was all the more spectacular given Clairton's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Springdale is ranked 146th).
Clairton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taris Wooding, who scored 21 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wooding has scored at least 25% of Clairton's points. Another player making a difference was DaShawn Hines, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
The victory got Clairton back to even at 3-3. As for Springdale, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Clairton will stay at home for another game and welcome Neighborhood Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th. As for Springdale, they will head out on the road to face off against California at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. California is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
