Basketball Recap: Meadow Bridge Comes Up Short

Meadow Bridge was the 62-43 winner over Liberty when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Meadow Bridge Wildcats fell to the Liberty Raiders 49-44. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Meadow Bridge still got an impressive performance from Kierston Rozell, who went 8 of 18 en route to 20 points along with eight boards and four blocks. Rozell is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Riley Roberts, who posted eight points and six steals.

Even though they lost, Meadow Bridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty only pulled down seven offensive boards.

Liberty was led to victory by Ava Yates and Kirsten Miller. Yates had 18 points in addition to six steals and five boards, while Miller put up 15 points and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe MCghee, who posted five points and six boards.

Meadow Bridge suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 3-2. As for Liberty, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Meadow Bridge will welcome Hundred at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meadow Bridge is facing Hundred at the right time seeing as Hundred is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Liberty, they will take on Richwood at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th.
